As an option, the high-speed planter Väderstad Tempo L 8-24 can be equipped with a liquid fertilizer system. The system is fully integrated in the machine, built for the high-speed precision planting that Väderstad Tempo is known for.
The operator sets the desired liquid fertilizer rate in terms of gallons per acre. To control the liquid fertilizer metering, flow sensors constantly monitor the output rate. Utilising this real-time feedback of the output, the system automatically maintains the selected output rate at all conditions. Thereby there is no need for calibration.
To make it easy, the system is designed to enable a wide range of different liquid fertilizer rates without changing nozzles. As an example, the machine can handle standard liquid fertilizer doses from 3.2 all the way up to 21.4 gallons per acre without changing nozzles on the machine, at a row spacing of 29.5 in and 9mph driving speed.
The liquid fertilizer system is fully integrated in the iPad-based control system Väderstad E-Control, where the driver gains full control of the planting operation in the field. Like the seed metering, the liquid fertilizer applies row-by-row shut off.
The liquid fertilizer system includes a 528 gallon plastic hopper for liquid fertilizer. Filling the liquid fertilizer tank can be accomplished using an external pump or gravity, or alternatively, via the on-board pump of the machine.
The liquid fertilizer system allows for in-furrow application directly in the seed row via the row units, ensuring immediate nutrient availability. Alternatively, it can be applied beside the seed row through fertilizer coulters for precise nutrient placement.
