The TopDown 300-700 is a high-intensity multipurpose cultivator, performing both full-scale shallow cultivation and deep cultivation in a single pass. By adapting to different field conditions, it is a highly versatile tool with unmatched performance. The TopDown can reduce passes, preserve ground moisture, increase capacity and lower costs per acre.
The TopDown is a multipurpose cultivator that combines an intensive disc cultivator with a robust three-axle chisel in the same machine. The 4.9-inch spaced discs are mounted on individually suspended disc arms, and they produce fine tilth by cutting and mixing the top soil. The 10.6-inch spaced chisel shanks then loosen and mix the soil with crop residue down to 11.8-inch working depths. In the final two working zones, the leveler and packer create an even and fully reconsolidated surface.
The high-quality discs are produced using hardened Swedish V-55 steel. These specialized discs provide intensive cutting and mixing of soil and crop residue.
To adapt to varying soil conditions, the intensity of the discs can be adjusted from the cab on the move.
Thanks to the discs' conical shape, they maintain the same working angle relative to the soil, despite level of wear or changes in working depth.
By performing multiple jobs, the TopDown is able to create an excellent seedbed in one pass. You benefit from preserved soil moisture, low soil compaction and high capacity during the busiest times on the farm.
With 10.6-inch shank spacing, the TopDown intensively mixes and loosen the soil down to 11.8 inches. With DeepLoosening points the working depth increases to 15.7 inches.
The 1,543-pound trip pressure maintains the correct working depth in all conditions, contributing to uniform crop growth.
The result is very intensive mixing and loosening, combined with the impressive ability to maintain the correct working depth at all times.

All Väderstad shank cultivators are equipped with the unique MixIn shin as standard. The MixIn shin throws material forward instead of upward, which is most commonly done. The material thereby passes the shank twice, doubling the mixing intensity both in depth and lengthwise. The benefit is that the working depth can be reduced without compromising results. Additionally, good lengthwise distribution provides more even crop emergence.
In heavy soil the throwing angle effectively breaks the soil flow, leaving it nicely crumbled. The MixIn shins provide superior mixing and crumbling without increasing fuel costs.
The next step after variable rate application of seed and fertilizer is to apply the same thinking to tillage. Here, savings can be unlocked using the rule "as much as necessary, as little as possible." Some of the benefits include diesel savings and improved soil health, as well as the possibility to increase working speed and reduce wear. Additionally, this enables an autonomous farming future.
The introduction of the iPad-based control system Väderstad E-Control, opens the possibility to apply prescription map tillage via ISOBUS Task Control.
The TopDown offers unique reconsolidation with four different options.
During dry conditions, weight can be transferred from the cultivator to the packer. In moist conditions the packer can float with its own weight. In very wet conditions the packer can either be raised or be completely removed.

The levelers are positioned on a parallelogram, ensuring that the correct working angle is maintained at any depth.
To adapt to varying soil conditions, the driver can adjust the intensity of the hydraulic levelers with millimeter precision on the go.
Equipping the TopDown with a fertilizer kit allows for fertilizer application during your tillage pass. The kit includes a distributor head that meters fertilizer from the Väderstad FH 2200 front hopper. Fertilizer is distributed behind each shank at a selected depth, providing benefits for the next crop.
Using the iPad-based control system Väderstad E-Control, the operator gains full control of the machine directly from the tractor cab. With a touch of a button, the driver can set the individual working depth or intensity of the discs, shanks, levellers, or packer on the go. To assist the field work, four pre-set buttons can be used to store different machine configurations.
With the iPad you can upload the most recent program software which allows you to benefit from future developments.
The TopDown offers a wide a range of uses. Equipped with the mountable BioDrill 360, it becomes a seed drill, allowing fast establishment of small-seeded crops, such as canola or cover crops.
This saves time while helping maintain ground moisture.

The high-quality V-55 discs cut crop residue and mix it into the soil. To adapt to varying soil conditions, the working intensity of the discs can be adjusted from the cab on the go.
With 10.6-inch spacing and a powerful hydraulic trip pressure up to 1,543 pounds, the shanks provide intensive mixing and loosening down to an 11.8-inch working depth.
Rotating leveling discs leave a smooth surface. They are hydraulically adjustable and include maintenance-free sealed bearings.
The hydraullically adjustable packer reconsolidates the soil profile at the full working depth of the implement.
